Qiacard FTA is a card impregnated with a patented chemistry: when a biological sample is deposited on the FTA, this chemistry lyses the cells and denatures the proteins, while the nucleic acids are extracted and protected in the paper fibres. The FTA card can be transported to the laboratory at room temperature or stored at room temperature for later analysis.
